Do You Hate the Lyrica Commercials as Much as I Do?

May 1, 2009 By FibroHaven 16 Comments

Every time a commercial for Lyrica comes on I cringe, and then I quickly change the channel. I have not seen a single commercial to which I could actually relate to the actor trying to pass themselves off as a Fibromyalgia patient and sufferer. They irritate me to no end, and yes I have considered that it is possibly because I choose to be drug free, and I have made no secret about my disdain for drug companies, but mostly I think it is because the actors and the commercials are not true representations of a person living with Fibromyalgia.   Take the latest ad for example:   Lady walking … [Read more...]

I’d Like You to Meet Finley

April 24, 2009 By FibroHaven 5 Comments

Finley is our silly and funny dog - part Australian Shepherd, part Great Dane. He is just the right combination of intellectual and goofball. We took him with us on our trip to Bodega Bay & wine country. It was his first road trip and he was awesome in the car. It was an 8-9 hour drive from North San Diego County to Bodega Bay and he rode like a champ. Never once asked "Are we there yet?" or whine or paced with impatience like his big sis Casey would have. My brother-in-law Chris is an amazing photographer and he took this shot of Finley on our trip. Is he not the most handsome … [Read more...]

Happy Earth Day

April 22, 2009 By FibroHaven 1 Comment

Today for earth day I plan to recycle and donate some old clothes and household items, buy locally grown organic produce to prepare for dinner, and take the large sack of plastic grocery bags I have been storing back to the recycle bin at the store. The most important thing I plan to do is to take a gentle walk around the lagoon near my house and simply enjoy the beauty of nature. My husband and I are conscientious about the environment every day, but we can do more. Today is a good day to start. Have you ever wondered how much the pollution and toxins in our environment contribute to our … [Read more...]

Please Stand By

April 14, 2009 By FibroHaven 3 Comments

When my sister and I were little girls and the "Please Stand By" signal would come onto the TV, we would get up and race to go stand by the television set. We thought we were being pretty funny! I am going to be taking a little break from my blog for the next week, but please, do not feel the need to stand by your computer and wait. Taking a trip to wine country to celebrate my hubby's 40th birthday. I am really looking forward to the rest and relaxation, with a few wine and cheese chasers! Hope to come back renewed and refreshed with something interesting to write about. Here are a … [Read more...]
