About
About Dannette:
Diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 1997, I have been learning to live well with it ever since. The first step was accepting that my life would be different. Then I had to learn to embrace the new me, and all that I still have to offer. It hasn’t been easy, but I hope that by writing about my journey, you will feel more understood, and recognize that you are valuable, and you are not alone.
Dannette’s Philosophy for FibroHaven:
I have adopted a holistic approach to wellness, which means I am learning to address all parts of myself, not just the physical symptoms that manifest into what is now called fibromyalgia.
I believe strongly in the mind-body connection and look at my body as a whole – physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual – and believe that to grow and improve in one area, I need to be mindful of all areas.
It is a process, and I still have much to learn. FibroHaven is an exploration of my learning process. Here I share the good, the bad, the joyful, and the unmanageable – with a strong emphasis on the Good and the Joyful!
I encourage you to share as well. There is nothing I can do alone that isn’t infinitely improved with the camaraderie and support of community. My hope is for FibroHaven to be a nurturing place of caring and sharing, a place where you can learn and grow, a place where you will be inspired to begin your own journey to wellness.
