Maybe this is why fewer men suffer from Fibromyalgia. Because according to this Pepsi commercial from the Super Bowl, “Men can take anything.” Explains a lot doesn’t it.

That’s a classic. But I tend to disagree. Men are not as tough as they make themselves out to be. Ever taken care of a man with the flu? Don’t take that the wrong way, as a fellow fibromite I know that this disease can make a baby out of anyone and at the same time make us stronger than the average person. We live with huge amounts of pain every day, pain that would probably make the average Joe fall down on his knees and weep, and yet we smile at the world and tell them we are okay, this is just an average day.
You are right Karla. This commercial is clearly just clever marketing to appeal to the men who believe they are invincible, but for all of us married women, we know that a hangnail can sideline the toughest of them. It really was painful for me to watch!
